I know I haven’t been blogging much lately and as much as I want to blame it on uni, it would be unfair to do so. Instead, I’ll blame it on transitioning back to uni!
Anyway to make up (pun intended!) for lost time I decided to post a tutorial on one of my most worn eye looks using the Naked 2 Palette. Before I had that fancy ass MAC palette, this is what I was rocking more than 50% of the time. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Apply a primer all over your lids. I’m using the NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (what a mouth full) all over the lid up to the brow bone and underneath your eye to prevent your concealer creasing too.
Step 2: With a flat brush pat on Suspect from the Naked 2 Palette on the lid up to where your socket line is. My eyes are slightly hooded and don’t have a defined socket line so I have to go slightly above my crease to make the shadow stand out.
Step 3: With a fluffy blending brush, I’m using the Hakuhodo J5523 (the MAC 217 can also be used or something similar), pat on Snakebite on the outer third of the eye slightly winging it out to elongate the eye and above the natural crease.
Step 4: With another clean fluffy blending brush use a bit of Tease to blend out the harsh edges and into where the socket is.
Step 5: Using Foxy on a clean brush apply from the arch of your brow to the end to highlight.
You should get something similar to the last picture.
Step 6: Brush brows to prep for drawing!
Step 7: Using your favoured pencil or powder or whatever you use to define your brows, fill them in! I’m using MAC Charcoal Brown on an angled brush and setting with MAC Clear Brow Set.
Step 8: Curl lashes if, like me, you have downward pointing lashes.
Step 9: Apply two coats of your favourite mascara. I’m using the Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara.
Then your eyes are done!
Of course if you want to make it more dramatic for the evening apply black liner to the bottom lash line & waterline and smoke it out using Snakebite. Also, add more mascara and false lashes if you please.
Here’s the rest of my face. Please excuse my puffy cheeks, whenever I ‘smile’ they seem to inflate. I opted for a neutral blush and lip so the focus was on my eyes.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’ll definitely have more tutorials coming in the future.
Let me know what you think of this in the comments!
