Hi everyone!

Today we’re reviewing the Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara. Isn’t it funny how it has the longest name ever for a product with the shortest shelf life?

I’ve had this for a few months now and consider it an almost Holy Grail product and would most definitely buy it again. It holds a curl, lengthens really well and volumises all while capturing those pesky inner and outer lashes. It captures lashes really well because of the mascara wand.

The wand is curved and is relatively thin compared to regular Maybelline brushes which are bulky. The first swipe helps define but you don’t really see its awesome power until the second or third coat, observe:

editThe left is curled but has no mascara while the right eye is curled with 3 coats of mascara. I used to be a 2-coat girl but 3 coats really gives it an extra oomph. See how obvious my eye lashes look? Without it, I look like I don’t even have lashes!

both 3 coatsNote: my right eye lid is slightly…larger, I guess, in comparison with the amount of lid space on the left which is why my lashes look shorter on the left eye in the photo.

Anyway I am officially in love with this mascara, I reach for it 75% of the time since the other mascaras in my arsenal don’t make me as excited to use it, if that makes sense.

This is fail proof for me. I never get it on my eyelids because it doesn’t have a huge brush, it’s the perfect size for my small eyes as it allows for more precision. I definitely recommend this.

You can buy this at Priceline, Kmart, Target, Big W, Coles, Woolworths, practically anywhere and costs $19.25. I wouldn’t buy it full price because it’s almost always on sale somewhere, you just have to look around.

Have you guys used this mascara? What are you favourite mascaras?
